Our founder Debjani Banerjee , A Graduate in Botany from Calcutta University and a Post Graduate in Music started her Career as a teacher. Traveling all over country due to transferable job of her husband brought her an opportunity to explore the different culture and rich heritage of India’s handicraft and handloom. With this passion and love for handcrafted product and Indian Natural fiber, she started her Company SRISHTI in 2007. Since then she has been working in promoting Indian Golden Fiber –Jute and diversified product development.
She has established her brand CRAFTUS-For diversified product in Jute and Indian handloom and Trotter –a travel gear company for Youth and passionate traveler. She works with the artisans in her own production unit and developed clusters of women throughout Maharashtra. Her mission is to promote and establish jute as true substitute of plastic and generating income to women and empower them. She has been recognized numerous time for her work in promoting Jute. She is an alumni of Goldman Sachs 10k Women program and Ambassador Program. A member of National Jute Board, Ministry of Textile, We Connect, FIEO, MCCIA.
