How To Develop A Minimalist Mindset?
You've been taught more is better. You're taught you need the latest iPhone, the most Instagram followers, and the biggest house in the best neighbourhood.
Trying to impress others will enhance your ego but not your happiness. It generally backfires. You don't appreciate what you have when you're always striving.
Developing a minimalist mindset can be a powerful way to improve your quality of life and reduce stress and anxiety. A minimalist mindset is about focusing on the things that matter most to you and letting go of the things that don't bring value or joy to your life. It's about simplifying and decluttering your life so that you can focus on what's important and let go of what's not.
You miss out on the beauty, no, the miracle of every day, and you end up feeling anxious and stressed.
So, how can you get out of this loop? How can you learn to think like a minimalist? Here are 6 ideas that can help you change the way you think about what you want.
1. Feel Grateful, Always
Most of the time, you want more because you need to fill a void. For example, when I'm feeling stressed, I throw myself into my work to take my mind off of it. Some people feel better when they shop or eat too much (I've been there).
When you feel empty or unhappy, you don't feel grateful.
You always hear it...
You should be thankful. You only get one shot at life. Each breath we take is a gift.
You can think about and learn all you want about these ideas, but your mind won't change until you put them into action. Make being thankful a part of how you act.
The thing about being grateful is that we forget it all the time. This is why Buddhist monks ring the bell several times a day to remind themselves to be in the moment.

2. Don't Close The Door
In a capitalist society, more is what makes people happy. Definitely more things. But this is true for all things. We want to overeat in every part of our lives, so our appetites are getting bigger.
This is a way of life that is based on materialism and consumerism. It's a hold that's very hard to get out of. And the first step is to question the idea that "more" is always better.
The first step to becoming a minimalist is to get out of this cycle of consumerism and see it for what it is. This point of view will throw you for a loop. You'll question consumption.
We use a lot of water, but why? So much food is wasted. Has gift-giving gone too far? Why do we make houses so big? How did we get here?
It's a lot to think about, and it can be hard to handle. So, take it step by step.
Start with what you think you know about work, getting things done, and being successful. Why do you think that if you work more hours, you'll be happier? Is there another way to find out if something worked?
Before you buy something next time, ask yourself, "Do I need this?" Will this make my life better? Is there a way to do this that's easier?
You don't have to become a minimalist all at once. But when you start to question what you think you know, you start to see that there are many ways to live.

3. Detox Your Life
When you have a lot of things and responsibilities, it's hard to think like a minimalist. When you clean up your physical space, you clean up your mind as well.
Start with easy things and work your way up to harder ones. Throw away clothes you don't wear, books you haven't read, and trinkets that don't mean anything to you.
The goal is to give yourself more room to breathe. When you have less stuff, you can worry less and spend more time and energy on what's important. Alternatively you can buy stuff from zero waste store in India, only when you need.
Some people say that you should get rid of clutter for 15 minutes a day. Some people do it all at once. As long as you get it done, it doesn't matter how you do it.
When you have less stuff, you start to value what you do have. You take better care of them and choose what you let into your life more carefully.
After you clean up your space, what's left shows what you care about. And it's much easier to live a minimalist life when your surroundings reflect the things you care about.
4. Embrace Slow Living
When did you last forget what time it was? Or were you so into something that you forgot about the rest of the world?
You might be someone who gets things done. You are always working hard and trying to reach your next goal. But what do you do when you get there?
You party for a day (probably 5 minutes), and then you have to get back to work. You're always trying to get somewhere and never stop to just be.
Getting a minimalist mindset requires you to slow down. It helps you enjoy the moment you're in.
It might seem strange, but one of the best ways to get things done is to slow down. When you're always busy, you're more likely to make mistakes and get tired.
When you slow down, you can focus on what's important and get rid of anything that's holding you back.

5. No Certification For 'Perfect'
If you compare yourself to others, you will always be unhappy. But it can also be hard to compare yourself to yourself.

Step back and be thankful for what you have (this goes back to point #2). Be happy with how far you've come and the person you've become.
And once you start to like yourself, it becomes much easier to like other people. You don't compare them to you. Instead, you see them for who they are.
So, whenever you feel like comparing someone or something to something else, immediately replace it with what you like about that person or thing.
For example, if you're trying to beat your running time but don't reach your goal today, don't beat yourself up. Instead, be proud of yourself for showing up and learn from the experience.
It's an easy change that makes a huge difference.
6. Take Actions
